On November 9, 2017, the City of Atlanta’s Renew Atlanta/TSPLOST programs joined the Buckhead Community Improvement District to break ground on the East Paces Ferry Complete Street project. Atlanta City Council member Howard Shook (District X); Renew Atlanta General Manager, Faye DiMassimo; Buckhead CID Executive, Director Jim Durrett; and Senior Director of Transit Oriented Development and Real Estate, Amanda Rhein, gave welcoming remarks at the Lenox Transit Station.
In addition to the speakers, Atlanta City Council member Alex Wan (District X) and First Lady Sarah-Elizabeth Reed also attended the ceremony in support of the project.
The project scope includes the installation of a multi-use trail, pedestrian crossing signals, street trees and pedestrian lighting from Roxboro Road to the Gordon C. Bynum pedestrian bridge. Renew Atlanta contributed $1M toward this project, in partnership with the Buckhead Community Improvement District.
